The event website says "Starting at the famous Bondi Pavilion, the run follows the 80km Bondi to Manly walking track around Sydney Harbour. Runners weave their way along spectacular cliff tops to Watsons Bay then hug the harbour foreshore through national parks, around iconic Australian landmarks and cultural sites, crossing the finish line at Manly Beach. It`s an 80km run that showcases the city’s unique allure – it`s a bustling city immersed in, and surrounded by nature."" The solo winners took 6-7 hours to complete the gruelling run. Power to them!

I always try to take one photograph on my daily walks, so the quest to find new subjects is getting difficult. But I literally bumped into this event on Saturday 25 October 2025, with no camera other than my trusty, old, Samsung Galaxy S10, so was chuffed that I had found a `not everyday` something. They do say that the best camera for the job is the one you've got with you! Here`s some shots as the competitors passed me in the opposite direction in the sdtretch between Potts Point and the City. Enjoy these few humble pics. If any competitor sees this and would like a higher resolution version, just contact me.
The full course of this event is a gruelling 80km, no fun-run indeed, but look at the map to see the route. It clings to the coast and harbour-front wherever possible, that objective frustrated in places by past poor planning decisions, and greedy opportunists. Despite that, the course is fabulous - there could hardly be a more scenic one anywhere. I wish I had the youth and fitness to undertake it!
